Key West Information Beaches Geiger Key beach

 Back to Key West
Geiger Key Beach

If you got a car in Key West there are a few nice day trips you can
take to get away from the crowds. A trip to Geiger Key Beach is one
of them. Drive north on US1 from Key West to mile marker 12  1/2.
You will see a Circle K gas station on your right. Turn right on Geiger
Key Rd. Drive for about 3 miles the road will come to an end. On the
left side for the last 1/2 mile is a nice stretch of beach with some small
shade trees. You will find plenty of parking on the side of the road.
This section of Geiger Key took a real beating from Hurricane George
a few years ago, but has come back nicely. When you come to the
barricades on the road the road was completely washed away. Beyond
this point it is marked as clothing optional. So if you want to beat the
crowds and get back to nature this is a good spot. There is nothing back
here on the Beach so bring any thing you may need. The Circle K gas
station at the turn off US1 is a good place for those last minute supplies.
About 2 miles back on the left side you will notice a sign pointing to
Geiger Key  Marina they have a nice bar with food on the water you
may want to check out.
