Google has changed the rules and so must we. Here are the new criteria for
linking
to and from this site. Sorry if this excludes your sites but I must keep up with
the ever
changing world of the major search engines. I have tracked over the last few
months
both me and my competitors links back from Google have dropped checking past
records
the ones being dropped fall into to categories One low page rank. Two link pages
buried more
then one link from the home page. Three large number of links on a page. Four is
not new
but the use of Flash or Java in the link to the Link Page.
Can only link to your main page and not subwebs:

xxx http://mysite.com/paris xxx
only http://mysite.com
So far it seems the search engines are favoring the use of subdomains
http://london.mysite.com
http://paris.mysite.com
So I can still link to these for the time being.
Each page that I link to must have a page rank of 4 or better. If you don't
know what your page rank is download a Google Toolbar. It is a very
important tool if you are linking. Right now I have a page rank of 6
for clydeskeywest and a 5 for everglades-national-park
It appears that in an effort to cut out link farms google is now being tougher
on link pages. The link page must be linked from your home page.
No flash or java. It can not be buried deep.:

I know this will be a pain for sites trying to get large numbers of links.
The number of links on a page should not be over 150.
I am setting my limit at 100 per page of outgoing links.
Then that page is full and I will start another one.
If you don't want your home page cluttered with links to link pages and
who does. Try what I'm doing. At the bottom of my home page I have the
different link categories most of you will only have one named Links.
When a page is full I move it to the bottom
[8][8][8][8][8] then link to it
from one of the 8's
Sufers only see a border and I still give my link partners
a direct link from my home page. Note don't change the name of the link page
when you move it. It will mess up your link partners who use spiders to check
link backs.
Have your webmaster or link manager check this out and make adjustments then let
me know.
You only need a few very good links to make a difference. I hope
by being more restrictive will help both me and you out.
