Islamorada Fishing in the Florida Keys

Capt. Jeff Beeler was born and raised in the Florida Keys and has been fishing since he was “just a kid.” He began his fishing career here, at Holiday Isle, when he was 13 years old working as a mate during the summer and on weekends. He became a full-time fisherman at the young age of 15 and has worked on, and run, most of the charter boats in the Florida Keys. As well as fishing from Miami to Key West, Captain Beeler has also fished throughout the Bahamas, Mexico and the Virgin Islands. His experience is extensive, and he remembers the day, in Virgin Gorda, when he caught 7 Blue Marlin ranging from 150 to 400 pounds.

In 1991, he decided to go into business for himself and bought a commercial fishing boat which he ran for 8 years. Approximately 2 years, ago, Jeff returned to charter boat fishing and ran private boats until this year when he decided to buy the Hopalong. He has many fond memories of the Hopalong which he worked on for four years as a young mate. He is happy to be back at the Holiday Isle Docks among his friends, both old and new. Captain Jeff lives in Islamorada with his wife Amy, and young daughter Sara Lynne. The Hopalong is available for full, 1/2 day and 3/4 day private or split charters.
