Key West is rapidly filling up with visitors for the opening of the "oversea" railroad on Monday.

Key West Information Duval at night

 Back to Key West
Key West Duval St. at Night

Key West

You will find that Duval St. has many faces. At night the shops start to
close. The shops more toward the middle stay open later. Then the
main theme shifts to the bars and clubs. Duval is roughly divided in
half the northern end from the Gulf to about Southard St. is the tourist
end as far as bars and clubs go or (meat markets) in general. Most the
bars and clubs from Southard to the Atlantic are gay bars and clubs. I
will try and give you a good cross section of all these in the Bars section
of this site.

For now a couple of Tips.

bullet

First for the families with little kids unless you want to do a lot of
explaining you may want to avoid the gay side late at night, usually
the little ones are in bed by then any way.

bullet

For the ladies if you get tired of the (meat market) atmosphere and
just want to go dancing some of the best dance clubs are down here.
Here you can dance all night long and not have to be bothered with
getting hit on.

bullet

For the guys now that I have told the ladies where to go. A tip for
you. These girls have been drinking and dancing all night long. By
one two o'clock they have kind of changed there minds and the guys
there are paying no attention to them.

bullet

For the gay ladies over the years the ladies enjoy the bars on both
ends of Duval St. As far as I know there is no predominantly ladies
club in Key West. If I find different I will let you know. To see a couple
of ladies dancing together on the dance floor no one gives it a second
though. The gay guys will usually stay at the other end. You never know
when you may get some drunk (redneck) and start gay bashing.
