When is the best time to go Snorkeling?

This question has two parts. The first is depending on how long you are in
Key West. You want to go snorkeling on calm days with little or no wind. If
you snorkel on windy days you are fighting the waves just to stay in one place.
Snorkeling should be very relaxing so you can easily glide on though the water.
If you are only in town for a few days you may not get the best conditions for
snorkeling but do it any way a not so perfect day is better than none. If you
are in Key West try and pick a better day if you can. Plus you may want to get
out there the first day or two to see if you like it especially if it is your first time.
that way you can still have time to do it again before you leave.

Now the second part what time of the day should you go Mourning, Afternoon
or a Sunset Snorkel. Me personally mourning is not in my vocabulary but for others
it is not a problem. The water is usually its clearest in the mourning it has had all
night to settle down from all the boats and snorkelers the day before. I like the
afternoon trips the sun is up high which gives you a lot more color. Then there is
the sunset snorkel the water is a little more churned up and the sun is at such an
angle that the colors are not as vivid, But you do get a great view of a Key West
sunset on your way back in.
