With weeks to go before the final entry deadline, the entry list for Acura Key West 2008, presented by Nautica is already long on talent and strong on international and national representation. Sunset Cruises

What could be more pleasurable than laying back in the comfort of the spacious hammocks of a sailing trimaran, sipping champagne (or a soft drink of your choice) and gazing up at one of the most beautiful sunsets in the world?

Our quiet, romantic evening sail will take you into a natural reality where you will glide past gorgeous scenery and the famous 7-Mile Bridge (one of the Keys best-known landmarks). Watch the sun melt into the horizon, opening up a natural art gallery of colors.

If you would like to share this one and a half hour treasure with us,

please call for departure times

Sailing Adventures

You don't have to get into the water to enjoy it.mc2.JPG (66007 bytes)

In the Florida Keys, we have some of the most beautiful sailing waters in the world. Warm tropical winds come at us from the east at 10-20 knots. The coral reefs on the ocean side of the islands and the shallow waters on the gulf side temper and calm the waves around us. We are surrounded by absolutely splendid views.

Paralleling the Keys about five miles off shore is the coral reef. Inside and protected by the the reef is Hawks Channel. Outside the reef is deep, open ocean.

Keep your eyes on the surface waters and you will surely see bottlenose dolphins, flying fish, and loggerhead turtles. Landmarks to watch for include the Sombrero Lighthouse, 7-Mile Bridge, Bonefish Towers, Hawk's Nest, Sombrero Beach and Washerwoman Light.

Unlike more classic hull designs like schooners that carry heavy keels and are limited in speed to six knots, our hulls are made to slice through the water and allow us to reach speeds up to 20 knots. You won't feel the pounding that you would in a power boat. In addition, our outer hulls give us incredible stability and much more deck space than a single hulled sailboat. When you set a drink down, it will still be there when you reach for it again.

Sailing is an art form. A sailing crew must perform like a well synchronized machine. Timing and agility are everything. And we do. We are confident that, even if you have never sailed before, you will feel welcomed and at ease and will enjoy high-performance sailing in a quiet and relaxing atmosphere.

If you prefer a quiet sail in tranquil waters, we will take you sailing inside the reef, in the channel.

If you would prefer a bit more excitement, we will take you outside the reef onto rolling waves for a true open-ocean sailing experience.

Or we could sail you to a deserted island for a Robinson Crusoe adventure. Gladiator, our trimaran, has a very shallow draft and is able to pull up in knee deep waters. In the Middle Keys there are several small uninhabited islands surrounded by calm, shallow grass beds. Here you can find sea shells, go rock hopping, explore the marine life in tidal pools among the island's mangroves, have a picnic lunch, or just get away from it all. It's a quiet, special place we like to keep secret.

You can arrange our sailing and deserted island adventures on a half day or all day basis. You may also combine sailing with any of the other activities we offer. We also offer sailing instruction.

If you truly appreciate and enjoy the water, like to keep things natural, and have considered experiencing a quiet, private day on the water with a highly trained and experienced crew, please contact us.

Remember, it's not just the destination that matters, it's the journey.
