Dry Rocks Diver Skill Level Novice to Advanced Depth 5 - 120 Feet Current (Light to Moderate)
West of Sand Key about 3 miles you come across Western Dry Rocks. Being it is
just a little further it as not drove on as much. The reef has not been damaged
as much over the years. Unless there has been a bad weather recently it is
usually much clearer than the other reefs close by. The reefs structure is much
like most all of them in the lower keys. Cliff- like corals with sandy gullies
between them. In this area their is more cracks, cervices, and caves then at the
other reefs. It is not unusual to see a good number of sharks in the area.
Closer examination and you find that a lot of the gullies are littered with
debris from ship many years ago.
