Key West Scuba Diving Conch Reef

Conch Reef
Diver Skill level Novice to Advanced
Depth shallow to 100 feet
Current moderate to strong

Key West Scuba Diving

Conch Reef lies along the outer reef line, it is a shallow area of about a mile. One of the most impressive features is diving the conch wall. The reef slopes down for about 65 feet then drop sharply to 90 feet. The rim of the wall does not follow a straight line but zigzags with the steepest drops on the outer points. This is where the current is the strongest. On These points you find the best sea life, with the current bringing lots of food into their reach. Most dives start at the 65 feet and you travel down the ravines to the base of the wall.
