No trip to
Key West is complete until you experience a
totally unique
fishing trip with A.W.S. Charters. Let Capt.
Anthony W. Skinner introduce you to the thrill of sight
fishing in knee deep water or less (ideal
fishing for the person who suffers sea sickness). It is not uncommon to see 100
pound tarpon or sharks so large their dorsals are seen slicing through the
water. What makes this
fishing a one of a kind experience is seeing
the fish take the bait, then the fight that will leave you breathless and the
eventual release of your trophy fish.
Capt. Anthony is skilled and prepared for both fly
fishing and spin
fishing. Beginners and seasoned anglers alike,
he will teach you everything you need to know to reel in the big ones. So climb
aboard A.W.S. Charters and he will guarantee you a wonderful day on the water.
Capt. Anthony Skinner

My love and passion combines both hunting and fishing. In these shallow
waters, stealth is of the utmost importance. Whether fly fishing or spin
fishing, this is a must do!
Sight fish for giant Tarpon, cruise the edge of a flat, bone fish in ankle
deep water along a pristine sand patch, or wait until you see the unmistakable
tail of a Permit suddenly appear as he dips down to eat something on the bottom.
These are all sights and experiences you can expect to have on a fishing trip
with A.W.S. Charters!

This type of
fishing is ideal for the fisherman who want
continuous action. Perfect for kids, first time fisherman or action seeking
professionals.
Backcountry fishing is dome in channels and
close to mangrove islands (imagine a highway for fish). We use several methods
to get the fish within casting range. We will catch tarpon, jacks, barracudas,
groupers, sharks, and blue runners.

The 16' Super Skiff Pro is the most widely used and respected boat in flats fly
fishing today. The Super Skiff was the first boat specifically developed for
stalking wary Bonefish on the shallow flats–earning its reputation as the
quietest, stealthiest, best poling boat on the planet. This well equipped skiff
accommodates up to 4 people.

My fishing experience began as a kid fishing for trout, reds and flounder
in Galveston Bay, Texas. I Moved to Vermont in my teens and fly fished for
trout in streams and rivers there. This was nice, however, I had already been
spoiled with the memory of the power of
saltwater fishing. While attending my first
year of college, 17 years ago, I came to
Key West for Spring Break, and like many
others, I stayed. During that trip I hooked a 2 foot barracuda on a fly. The
lightning speed and aerial show he gave was astounding and within 3 months, I
had a kayak and fished any time I could. This too was wonderful
fishing but I could not reach the expansive
flats on the Gulf. I bought my boat new in 1993 and have been
fishing ever since. So with a lifetime of
fishing and 17 years locally, I know where the fish prowl. Trust me to guide
you to your
Key West trophy.
