Key West is rapidly filling up with visitors for the opening of the "oversea"
railroad on Monday.

Capt. Michael Weinhofer is originally from Flemington, New Jersey. He charter fished for 18 years with his father John E Weinhofer out of Brielle, New Jersey. Capt. Mike fished the original Jack Tar in tournaments from Cape May White Marlin Open, Maryland and North Carolina tournaments. He moved to Key West in 1990 and began Charter & tournament fishing the Bahamas, Cuba, Mexico and the Florida Keys full time. Capt. Mike is the former owner of the Jack Tar 2 sport fishing charter boat 52' Buddy Cannady Custom Carolina. Now he specializes in light tackle fishing with a 27' Conch center console. Capt. Mike fishes the reef, wrecks, Key West Harbor and offshore live baiting.
The Compass Rose is a custom 27 foot conch. The thirty knot cruise opens up the possibilities on where you can get to in short period of time. The Compass Rose is licensed for 6 passengers. The Conch 27 is a light tackle boat made by guides for guides. She is an amazingly dry and smooth running boat that drifts equally as well. With built in coolers and dry storage, she is the answer to the most demanding guides needs and wants. The electronics package includes NorthStar Gps/plotter, Furuno Radar, Furuno color fish finder, Icom Vhf and autopilot. Tackle wise she is equipped with tackle from 8 lbs to 80 lbs by Shimano, Penn , G-loomis and Keys Custom Rods. The Conch 27's shallow draft and speed combined with Key West geography enables me to find a place to fish no matter what the weather. While still having a comfortable and productive day fishing.
